THE BAND

Guitar-Steve McLeod relocated to the North Coast 10 years ago to complete a music degree at SCU Lismore. He has performed professionally with many Australian and international acts, such as The Flying Burrito Bros', The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Jeff Lang, Sara Storer, Chain and Phil Manning, and recently with Laura Noble.  

Trumpet-Laurie Green started playing cornet in 1968, playing in “A grade” competition Brass bands in Sydney. His musical experience is diverse. He has played in a wide variety of ensembles including Baroque brass quintets, Symphony orchestras, Swing bands, dance bands, concert bands, pit orchestras and a German “oompah” Beerfest band.

Baritone Sax-Steve Sax played trumpet as a teenager in the local town band & orchestra. His musical career was put on hold, because of business commitments and has only recently started playing again.

Drums-Byron Goodwin got his first drum kit at the age of two and began playing in school and church bands at the age of 9. He began performing professionally in Melbourne with his high school music teacher in 1986. He has been performing professional for over 20 years, performed at more than 2500 gigs and recorded 14 albums. 

Trombone-Sonya Henderson began playing trombone at the age of nine. At age 18 she was awarded a Rotary Scholarship to the Annual Music Festival in the mountains of Campos de Jordao, Brazil. She toured Russia, Estonia and Finland with the SBS Youth Orchestra. Sonya currently works in the Northern Rivers area as a freelance musician and teacher.

Piano-Alan Parker was born in Glasgow Scotland and achieved his Associate at the London College of Music in 1969. After turning professional soon after Alan went on to play with many different acts. Some of these include Sir Cliff Richard (for 24 years becoming his Musical Director), 10CC, Olivia Newton-John, Judith Durham, Uli John Roth, The Bliss Band, David Essex, Billy Conolly, Kiki Dee, Barry Humphries, Hale & Pace, Beggars Opera, Tiger, Bucks Fizz and many more. Alan moved to Australia in 2001 although continued to return to the U.K. for touring purposes and is currently enjoying playing live as well as studio sessions in the Northern Rivers area.

Tenor Sax-Andrew Hills has been playing as aprofessional  musician in everything from punk, funk, gypsy and circus bands, Andrew is an accomplished performer and a highly trained musician.  With good energy, experience and a passion for funk and soul, he fits into and adds to what is the great groove of Soul'd.
